Historical Background

The Weirton Kiwanis Club was started in 1929, some 14 years after the first
Kiwanis Club was founded in Detroit in 1915.

Growth and community service has been the mission of our club. We have raised
thousands of dollars for the community.

We sponsor the Builders Club and Key Club at Weir High School. Both organizations
have received national recognition. Presently, the Builders Club is rated the #1
club in West Virginia.

The club currently has 61 members, representing all walks of life.

We look into the future with great hope. Our goals are high, but always met!
