Using Your Library Card Online

Your Mary H. Weir Public Library card does more than check out books at the desk. With your card number and PIN, you can manage your account and use our digital resources from anywhere. Here’s how it works.

What’s My PIN?

Your PIN is a 4-digit number that works together with your library card number whenever you use your card online.

By default, your PIN is set to the last 4 digits of your library card number. You can change it to any 4-digit number you like by logging into your library account online or calling or visiting the library.

Can’t log in? If you’ve forgotten your PIN or it isn’t working, call or visit the library and we’ll reset it for you. For your security, we can’t give out or reset PINs by email.

Tip: Your library card number is the long number printed below the barcode on your card.

Log In to Your Library Account

Your online account lets you keep track of everything you have out and manage your own borrowing.

To log in:

1. Go to our catalog at mlnapp.raleigh.lib.wv.us and click Log In in the top-right corner. (Or go straight to mlnapp.raleigh.lib.wv.us/patroninfo.)
2. Enter your name, library card number, and PIN.

Once you’re logged in, you can:

• Manage your loans — see what you have checked out and renew items yourself
• Change your PIN and update your account information
• Create lists of titles you want to read
• Turn on reading history to keep a record of what you’ve borrowed (this is off by default — you choose whether to use it)

Access Our Online Resources

Your card also unlocks our digital collection — eBooks, audiobooks, research databases, and more — most of which you can use from home.

When you open one of our online resources, you’ll be asked to sign in:

• Some resources only ask for your library card number.
• Others require both your card number and your PIN — including Libby, our most popular resource for eBooks and audiobooks.

If you haven’t set a custom PIN, remember that yours is the last 4 digits of your card number.

A few in-library resources are available only on our public computers and can’t be accessed from home. These are labeled on our resources page.
